The Purpose
We crafted the new HUNT 25 Carbon Gravel Race wheelset to offer maximum versatility and exceptionally low weight. Laced to our lighter, race-ready Sprint SL hubs, offering rapid 7.5-degree engagement for light and fast gravel riding or racing across technical and varied terrain.
Long-time advocates of tubeless technology for riding on and off road, HUNT’s development into hookless rims began back in 2016. With the 25 Carbon Gravel Disc rim development, we were able to push boundaries of rim weight-saving further, bringing the final rim weights to a mere 385g. As well as having that performance benefit, due to a simpler manufacturing process, hookless rims can be produced with less waste, resulting in a cost reduction which can be passed on to riders.

SPRINT SL HUBS
All-new Sprint SL hubs featuring the same strength and power transfer in a lower weight package, meaning more of your power pushing you forwards. The hub shell is 6066 series alloy, offering a greater strength-to-weight ratio than lower 6000 series alloys. Large 15mm diameter hub axles for climbing and out-of-saddle sprinting responsiveness. Circular dropout interface steps ensure a secure fitment.

- Rims | 700c Asymmetric disc-specific hookless/straight-sidewall rim profile. ETRTO-compliant tubeless rims. Hookless (what does this mean?).
- Tires | 26mm internal rim width, Tubeless-ready for lower weight & rolling resistance, featuring H_LOCK bead-seat for easy and secure tubeless installation. Hookless rims require the use of tubeless tires. (Please always refer to your tires manufacturer's guidelines on pressure, rim width, and hookless compatibility).
- Hubs | New Sprint SL straight-pull hubs. 15mm diameter 6066-T6 body and axle for supreme strength-to-weight. Circular dropout interface steps for added security in fitment. 3x treble-tooth pawls, resulting in just 7.5˚ engagement. Steel spline inserts to protect the cassette body. Center-lock brake mount. Full Specs
Rims
- Disc-specific hookless/straight-sidewall design.
- 33mm external and 26mm internal.
- H_LOCK bead-seat up-kicks, for easy and secure tubeless installation.
- Matt black base finished with matt white contrasting graphics.
Spokes
- 24 front and 24 rear, laced 2-cross.
- Aero Butted 2.0-2.2/0.95-2.0 then PSR section is 2.2.
- Straight-pull, for excellent torsional strength and direct power transfer.
- Cold drawn from high grade T302 (18/10) stainless steel wire by Sandvik Sweden
- Patented Pillar Spoke Re-enforcement (butted again just before the spoke head, providing more durability in high stress area).
- Black stainless finish.
Nipples
- Alloy square body for external adjustment and square head for easy internal adjustment/tensioning.
- 16mm length with washer for a strong connection to the spoke added durability.
- 14 gauge.
- Black anodized finish.
Tires Info
- HUNT recommends a 40mm tire for best performance, tire widths between 35mm and 64mm are also safe to use.
- You must not exceed the maximum tire pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tire manufacturer if this is lower.
- Only use tires marked as compatible with hookless (TSS) rims.
- Note: best performance is usually gained by using tire pressures lower than the maximum, you can see our blog post here about this.
- Tubeless-ready for lower weight and rolling resistance.
Axle Sizes
These wheels are available with all existing disc brake road bike axle adapter sizes. We fit the axles you need, just complete the simple form shown after checkout:
- Front: 12x100mm Thru-Axle, 9x100mm Thru-Axle, Quick Release 9x100mm
- Rear: 12x142mm Thru-Axle, 12x135mm Thru-Axle, 10x135mm Thru-Axle, Quick Release 9x135mm
If you are unsure what size your axles are don't worry it also includes the option to tell us your bike model and we will find out and then fit the correct axles, plus we're happy to change them later at our cost if you don't quite get it right. Front Hub
- Forged and CNC’d 6066-T6 heat treated aluminum alloy body.

Rear Hub
- 6066-T6 heat-treated aluminum alloy freehub body.
- Steel Spline Insert freehub body reinforcement provides excellent durability against cassette sprocket damage to the Shimano freehub often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies.
- 3x treble-tooth individually leaf sprung pawls with 48 teeth on the ratchet ring for fast 7.5-degree engagement and instant acceleration.
- All freehub standards accounted for.
- Hunt Race Season Disc straight-pull super-light alloy.

All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 130kg (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If a rider is over 105kgs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.
60 Day Ride & Return Period. We are certain you'll be impressed by the acceleration, low-weight, speed and durability of our wheels. We are cyclists and as such strive to offer class leading service and support. Buy with confidence, if for any reason you wish to return the wheels for a full refund of your order you can do so up to a full 60 days after you receive them whether they have been ridden or not. Please note we cannot offer refunds on wheels that have suffered from crash damage but do offer a crash replacement discount.
